The Royal Air Force Museum is a national museum, a Government non-departmental public body (NDPB) and a registered charity, with two public sister sites at London and Cosford and a stored collection site near Stafford. RAF Museum Enterprises Ltd is the trading arm of the RAF Museum with all profits gift-aided to the Museum to support its charitable activities. Our purpose is to share the story of the Royal Air Force through its people and collections, to engage, inform and inspire our visitors. Our overall vision is to reach, connect and inspire everyone with the RAF story.

Having just completed a multimillion pound redevelopment project on site, there has never been a more exciting time to join our award-winning museum.

The role holder will play a key role in embedding a professional, agile, value for money approach to management of the Museum’s resources and activities, building business effectiveness and resilience to meet its charitable objectives and strategic ambitions.   The role-holder will join at an exciting time for the Museum as we firm up plans for further development at both our sites as part of our Strategic Plan to 2030, with the vision to inspire everyone with the RAF story.

The role-holder will be qualified (ACCA, ACA, CIMA) with an excellent knowledge of accounting standards and best practice, and significant experience of leading a finance team and working with colleagues to support effective business performance through a period of organisational change. The role-holder will be commercially astute, with an ability to demonstrate the positive impact of financial processes and business analysis on the wider organisation.

Ideally, the role-holder will have experience in the heritage or cultural sector. The post will be based at our London site, but travel to our sister site in Cosford will be required on occasions.
