Head of Policy and Development (Family Mental Health)
Salary
£38,000 to £42,000 per annum
Hours: 36 per week
Location: Leicester or home-based

We work with 28,000 parents every year, over 40% of whom are struggling with mental health difficulties.  Home-Start UK is now seeking a Head of Policy and Development to share local expertise and drive regional and national change for families experiencing or at risk of experiencing a mental health condition.

This senior post will have responsibility for policy in England with an advisory role for the National Directors in devolved nations.  We are therefore seeking an individual with a track record in policy influence and impact at a national level and a commitment to ensure that policy is grounded in research, practice and the lived experience of families.

You will need to have strong critical thinking ability, partnership building skills, project management skills, experience of working in a mental health or related field and be committed to improving the mental health of families and children.

Proactive and well organised, you will be a superb communicator with excellent presenting skills, including the ability to represent the charity in the media and at a wide range of stakeholder events.

This post can be based at our Home-Start UK office in Leicester or home-based (with at least one day per week at the Leicester office).

This is an exciting time to be joining Home-Start and the Head of Policy and Development’s role will be vital to the success of this new initiative.  If this sounds like your type of challenge we would be delighted to hear from you.

Closing date for applications: 6 May 2019.
Interviews will be held at the Home-Start UK office in Leicester on 23 May 2019.
