We are working in partnership with HCPT which is a charity offering pilgrimage holidays, to Lourdes in the south of France, for disabled and disadvantaged people from around the UK and further afield.  Every Easter over 1,000 children enjoy a fun and safe week in Lourdes, staying in hotels with their volunteer helpers.   Each Summer, around 1500 pilgrims travel to Hosanna House, HCPT’s Residential Centre in Lourdes. HCPT has its roots in the Catholic faith and their volunteers and beneficiaries come from all walks of life and from all faiths and none.

The charity is seeking a new Head of Fundraising & Communications who can develop the fundraising strategy with a view to maximising growth opportunities for HCPT through the development and maintenance of income streams and by communicating its identity to existing and potential stakeholders.   The role will also embrace communications and marketing in support of the fundraising team and this individual will liaise closely with volunteer and supporter groups throughout the UK.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have significant experience in most of the following fundraising streams: direct marketing, major donors, trusts, legacies, community and corporate fundraising
  • Be experienced in leading and managing three direct reports and volunteers
  • Possess good financial skills to include budgeting and financial forecasting
  • Demonstrate a proven track record in researching, identifying and accessing funds
  • Have experience of producing fundraising or marketing & communications plans
  • Be innovative and proactive ideally have experience of managing media relations
  • Demonstrate flair in a range of writing styles on all promotional material
  • Bring experience of marketing communications programmes including brand management and quality control

There is a commitment to travel to France for their annual Easter Pilgrimage involving 12 days away as well as occasional other visits of 1-3 days’ away, as required.
