Money Adviser

The Citizens Advice service helps people resolve their legal, money and other problems by providing information and advice, and by influencing policymakers.

Part time, 24 – 30 hours per week (negotiable)

We require an enthusiastic and fully-qualified money adviser to work as part of our money advice team and to provide effective, efficient debt advice within the aims, policies and principles of our Citizens Advice service. You will be IMA qualified and a DRO intermediary.

Acting as a resource for our bureau’s generalist advisers, your remit will include the provision of casework covering the full range of money advice and you will act for the client where necessary by calculating, negotiating, drafting or writing letters and telephoning third parties as appropriate.

You will be a meticulous individual, especially when maintaining case records for continuity of casework, and you’ll assist with research and campaigns work by providing information about clients’ circumstances. You will also be very well informed with regards to legislation, case law and policy changes relating to debt and benefits.

To be considered for the post, you will be self-driven with the ability to prioritise your own work, meet deadlines and manage your own caseload. A strong communicator across all media, you will boast effective writing skills and be adept in the areas of negotiation, representing and preparing reviews, reports and correspondence.
