Salary:   £30,395 per annum
Full Time Permanent
Closing Date:  Monday 22 April 2019

Are you an ambitious individual with experience of stewarding donors or supporting other quality relationships to benefit an organisation’s advancement?

The Office of Development and Alumni Relations manages the University of Southampton’s engagement and fundraising programmes, generating £7 million per year and working with a global alumni and supporter community of 230,000. We provide leadership direction for all philanthropic giving and raise income from individuals, trusts, foundations and companies to support transformative research, our students’ experience and enterprise activities.

We are looking for an experienced relationship manager to join our team. The Donor Relations Manager is responsible for overseeing the stewardship of all donors to the University, guiding the strategy and implementing the related processes and policies. This is an engaging, creative, interesting and important role and we are particularly keen to encourage applications from within and outside of the fundraising sector.

You will have a good understanding of the importance of stewardship and its role in successful fundraising.  A highly competent communicator, you will have developed organisational skills, have a keen eye for detail and work well with others at all levels of the organisation. With substantial experience of relationship building you will have a natural enthusiasm to act as the steward of our donors and their gifts.

Just over an hour outside London in a beautiful leafy location, the University of Southampton is one of the top universities in the world and is a place of transformation. Through education and research, innovation and enterprise, we unlock potential and provide opportunities that transform the lives of our students, our community, society and the economy.

The University of Southampton recently achieved a £25 million fundraising campaign to create the UK’s first Centre for Cancer Immunology, and we are now embarking on plans for a £100m University-wide campaign. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your career by being a part of our inspiring plans and to enjoy working in a friendly and ambitious team.

We encourage informal discussions about the role if this will inspire you to apply – so please contact Joanna Watts on 02380 597727.

Application Procedure

To apply, you should submit your completed online application form. The application deadline will be midnight on the closing date stated above.
