About the role: 

As a Fundraising Executive for our client you will raise income for them from major donor fundraising activities as per agreed objectives and targets. 

You will identify, cultivate, engage and steward major donor prospects and current supporters through bespoke proposals, events and other appropriate fundraising activities in order to generate income to achieve ambitious targets. To ensure the provision of excellent donor care to ensure long term commitment. 

Responsibilities: 

- Manage all mid-value major donor proposal mailings (both development and emergencies) including; selection of suitable programmes for funding, research, copy generation, data selection and print 
- Write and produce creative and innovative stewardship materials including; funding reports, thank you letters and newsletters to recruit new major donors and retain existing supporters 
- Support and develop key relationships with a portfolio of existing major donors and prospects, producing individual donor pipelines and personally request major gifts of £5k and upwards 
- Oversee the Philanthropic Circle (£5k+ donors) or similar initiative, including; recruitment of members, communications and annual event 
- Identify new prospect donors through the database, existing networks, networking events and external sources. Research these prospects and develop prospect pipelines to cultivate new donors 
- Together with the Major Donor Partnerships Manager organise Major Donor events, at least one stewardship thank you event and one cultivation event 
- Liaise with suppliers and manage expenditure budgets for events organised 
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for all existing and prospective major donors on the Concern database, in accordance with Data Protection Legislation 
- Create and run donor reports from the database 
- Work with the overseas team to develop good knowledge and understanding of the organisation's overseas projects 
- Support with the delivery of monthly and annual budgets and targets set out with your line manager in addition to project specific targets 

About you: 

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in fundraising or client management role 
- Excellent written skills and experience of producing a range of communications and presentations for external audiences 
- Excellent communication, networking and interpersonal skills with experience of engaging with high net-worth individuals 
- Demonstrable experience of organising events 
- Proven track record of achieving income against agreed financial targets 
- Excellent organisation, time management skills and ability to work to multiple deadlines 
- An understanding of the principles and practice of major donor fundraising 
- Must be flexible and be able to work occasional evenings and weekends 
- Experience of using MS Office packages 

Desirable: 

- Educated to degree level, or equivalent experience 
- Good knowledge of Charity legislation and third sector in general 
- Experience using contact management databases 
- Experience of developing and implementing fundraising initiatives 
- Experience of preparing project plans, income and expenditure budgets 
- Experience of using major donor prospect research tools and mechanisms 
- Prior experience in international development or charity sector
