Receptionist / Office Administrator 

Our client is the UK’s largest provider of specialist services for victims of all forms of gender-based violence. Every day they support over 6,000 women and children in their national network of services. These include Independent Domestic, Sexual and Gender-based Violence Advocacy services (IDVAs / ISVAs and IGVAs), community outreach, specialist refuge accommodation, sanctuary services and culturally-specific services and the Freephone 24 Hour National Domestic Violence Helpline (run in partnership between themselves and Women’s Aid). They advise Government and lobby hard to keep violence against women and girls high on the public agenda. They run award-winning prevention and public education campaigns, managing a busy press office and website, and they are an accredited training provider. They give a voice to the voiceless. 

Position: Receptionist / Office Administrator 
Location: Head Office, London 
Job type: Full Time, Permanent 
Hours: 37.5 hours per week 
Salary: £22,067 to £25,220 per annum

About the role: 

Our client is looking for a receptionist / office administrator with a range of skills and abilities who can welcome and respond to people with empathy and understanding, work as a team player in support of colleagues and ensure that the office environment is well organised and secure. This is a great opportunity to work for a successful charity with its headquarters situated between Tower Bridge and St Katharine's Docks. 

Responsibilities: 

You will receive guests and visitors and answer telephone calls treating everyone with respect irrespective of background and maintaining confidentiality at all times. In the course of your duties you will come into contact with members of the public, politicians, the media, police, social services and funders. Most important, at times you may be the initial response to victims of domestic and sexual violence with responsibility for ensuring they are signposted to the most appropriate support service. 

You will also play an active role in the administration of head office ensuring that their premises are kept well supplied, safe and presentable at all times. The post holder will be managed by the Executive assistant to the Chief Executive, who is responsible for overall office management. 

About you: 

You must be computer literate with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook) and have demonstrable experience of reception and office administration duties. You will also be able to work under pressure and deliver a range of tasks and responsibilities efficiently and effectively.
