As the organisation celebrates its 60th anniversary, Cruse is seeking a new Chair who will convene the board and work alongside the staff and 5000 dedicated volunteers in leading this trusted and ambitious organisation working to provide support to those in need after a loved one dies. 

This is a significant opportunity for an individual who is emotionally intelligent, engaged in the wider issues in civil society and who will bring governance, chairing and leadership experience at a senior level to shape the future of an ambitious charity. 

The new Chair will be highly credible with strong interpersonal skills; experience of leading change and transformation and an ability connect a strong national narrative for both the evolution of Cruse’s vision and its future funding model.   

The Chair will be motivated by Cruse’s vision and values. They will lead and facilitate a skilled and engaged body of Trustees; they will also be willing to be active as an advocate of this special charity working to ensure that bereaved people have somewhere to turn when someone dies.
