• Source, write and edit stories and images from all parts of the organisation to ensure that the work of the organisation is comprehensively represented in all external channels including the mainstream and trade media, social media and other appropriate platforms

• Establish productive relationships with all directorates and individual sites across the network to ensure that work in all parts of the organisation is understood

• Provide a rapid, courteous and efficient reactive service to the media

• Support the communication's team in its desire to continually improve by analysing data on our performance and recommending improvements

• Work with colleagues inside and outside the communications team to provide communications to support a range of projects including our capital investment schemes

• Support member communications and producing the annual review

• Work with the patient information manager to promote our leaflets externally

• Promote research projects and announcements by working closely with colleagues

• Become familiar with and take part in exercises designed to practice the major incident procedure, ensuring you understand how you would keep external stakeholders informed in the event of an incident

• Explore with the digital team ways of using digital technology, particularly social media, to communicate with patients and other stakeholders

• Monitor the press and communications inboxes, ensuring that all enquiries are responded to and cleared from the inbox the same day

• Supervise filming as required ensuring that trust policies and any contracts are adhered to

• Check the website daily for any updates needed

• Provide regular tweets and Facebook posts in line with the social media policy
