Tempo enable more people to volunteer because giving your time and feeling valued improves health, happiness and prospects. We do this through Time Credits – a time-based currency - incentivising people to volunteer. People earn Time Credits when they volunteer and spend them on a wide range of activities. Since our inception in 2008, Time Credits have reached over 50,000 people, creating significant impact. We now have ambitious plans to scale what we do over the next five years, by reaching many more people and delivering further change across the UK.
Tempo, as a registered charity, is governed by a Board of Trustees and we are now recruiting a new Trustee with a background in Finance. Working closely with our Chair, other Trustees and our Leadership Team, the successful candidate with join our Finance & Audit Committee, ensuring excellent financial governance and risk management is in place, and act as an advocate and ambassador for our work. Our scaling ambitions are at once an exciting and challenging time for the organisation with oversight of financial strategy an important part of our high support, high governance jigsaw.
If you are interested in joining Tempo, your application will need to demonstrate relevant qualifications and previous experience of finance at a senior level, a thorough understanding of charity governance and working with a Board and an Executive Team. A commitment to the values of Tempo will be important. Your focus and determination to help Tempo achieve long term sustainability and extend our impact will be critical.
Closing date for applications is Monday April 15th with interviews during May. The successful candidates are expected to take up the roles by June 1st , 2019.
