Job Title:  Finance Director

Hours: Part time – circa 21 hours a week

Salary:  £65k (Full-Time Equivalent)

Location:  Worcestershire

We are working in partnership with The Royal Life Saving Society UK (RLSS UK), a long-established, national membership charity, which is proud to be the UK’s leading ‘Drowning Prevention Charity’.  Also, with 40 branches across the country, it is the UK’s leading provider of water safety training and qualifications.  The organisation is now seeking a commercially-driven Finance Director to join the senior leadership team and lead on all financial aspects of the organisation, as well as risk management, business/commercial planning and overseeing of key partnerships. 

The successful candidate will need to be a fully qualified accountant and demonstrate the following:

  • At least 10 years’ post qualification experience, including 5 years as a senior finance manager/finance director
  • Experience in a commercial environment, as well as within the charity/non-profit sector
  • A strong strategic and commercial mindset
  • Experience of negotiating, developing and managing commercial partnership agreements and monitoring performance of major commercial suppliers and partners.
  • Good knowledge of charity law, governance and the latest charity accounting regulations and standards
  • Experience of preparing commercial reviews, business cases and proposals for a Board
  • Excellent project management skills and the ability to oversee a range of major projects at a senior level on behalf of the Board
