Catering Assistant

Ouir client is a highly respected independent charity, which together with its subsidiary, Pact Futures, works across England and Wales to develop and deliver a range of innovative services, providing practical and emotional support to prisoners’ children and families, to prisoners, and to people with convictions.
Position: Casual Catering Worker
Location: HMYOI Coldingley, Surrey (Commutable from Farnborough, Aldershot, Bracknell, Chertsey & surrounding areas)
Job type: Part Time, Permanent
Hours: Casual Hours Monday to Sunday
Salary: £8.75 per hour
Benefits: Generous holiday entitlement, free advice & counselling service, eye care vouchers, cycle to work scheme plus more.

About the role:
As a casual Catering Worker at HMP Coldingley you will work as one of the charity's team. You will be based primarily in the prison’s and visits hall delivering the catering service for families visiting the prison.
About you:
- To be successful in this role you will have demonstrable experience and understanding of working in a challenging multi-agency environment and / or a retail or catering environment.
- You will also have excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a demanding work load.
- You will be able to provide warm, human support and to ensure that children, families and prisoners are treated with respect, dignity and courtesy.
Other information:
This post is subject to a 6 month probationary period, verification of identity and proven right to work in the UK, satisfactory references from previous employers covering a 3 year period, declaration of any unspent criminal convictions (and where appropriate a satisfactory risk assessment), Prison Vetting and a Disclosure and Barring Service enhanced check. Please note that being bankrupt or having County Court Judgements may affect your ability to be successfully vetted to work in a prison.
You may have experience of the following: Catering Assistant, Catering Worker, Catering, Hospitality Assistant, Hospitality Worker, Hospitality, Kitchen Staff, Front of House, Cafe Assistant, Waiter, Waitress, Food Hygiene, etc.
