A rare and exciting opportunity exists to join one of the world’s most well respected and fastest growing international development organisations – The Fred Hollows Foundation. Working across 26 countries, our vision is for a world where no one is needlessly blind.

Working as part of our global resource mobilisation team, this newly created position is accountable for leading strategic business development and funding acquisition activities in the UK and Europe that ensures The Fred Hollows Foundation is recognised as a leading international development organisation globally.  In this busy and varied role, you will be responsible for identifying and cultivating key stakeholder relationships, leading on the development of major funding opportunities, whilst also exploring opportunities with alternative health financing mechanisms.

To be successful in this role, you will have knowledge of bilateral and multilateral international donors. You will have had previous and demonstrated experience in international and community development, and a record of accomplishment for successfully developing winning proposals, in partnership with international and national organisations. Critical to your success will be your excellent interpersonal skills, exhibition of confidence in presentation and public speaking, exemplary written skills and the ability to meet conflicting deadlines.

In particular we are looking for someone with the following experience and skills:

  • Substantial networking experience (identifying, establishing and managing strategic business development relationships)
  • Experience liaising with governments, large institutional donors, and funding bodies in the UK, Europe, or Africa
  • Demonstrated track record of success in developing high value winning bids and proposals, in partnership with international and national organisations
  • Extensive experience in effectively managing complex stakeholder relationships
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic and operational plans
  • Experience developing high-quality proposals, logframes and budgets
  • Experience in international and/or community development
