Are you looking for:

  • New opportunities to make a positive impact?
  • New challenges?

tide – together in dementia every day – is the UK wide involvement network for carers and former carers of people with dementia hosted by Life Story Network CIC and shortly to become a charity in its own right. Through our Carers Development Programme, tide invests in carers and former carers, equipping them with the knowledge, skills and confidence to speak up to influence practice, policy and research at all levels in dementia care and support across the UK.
We are a dynamic and growing team of social entrepreneurs, working within a human rights framework to empower the carers and former carers of people with dementia to become a sustainable social movement and bring about change.

2019 will be an exciting year for tide. Building on our success over the past three years, we have been awarded a Big Lottery UK Portfolio grant of £1.2m to expand in England (with a focus on Yorkshire and Humber), establish tide in Wales and Northern Ireland and, combined with our existing funding of £1.4m over four years from the Life Changes Trust in Scotland, realise our ambition of tide becoming a UK wide involvement network for the carers of people living with dementia.

The right person will be committed to ensuring that carers of people with dementia are respected, valued and provided with the opportunities to shape, influence and inform the future direction of dementia policy, research, commissioning, training and practice in England. A key task will be to put a learning and development infrastructure in place to empower carers and former carers to have a collective voice.
