London has been selected as one of 12 host cities for the 2020 UEFA European Football Championship (EURO 2020), with Wembley Stadium as the host venue.

Wembley will stage three Group Stage fixtures, one Round of 16 match, both Semi-Finals and the tournament Final. The bid was a collaborative effort involving the Mayor of London, The FA and HM Government. Delivery of the event will be coordinated by a multi-agency Local Organising Structure (LOS).

With direction and oversight provided by the LOS, the Greater London Authority (GLA) is responsible for delivering a variety of tournament related activities, including fan areas, city-dressing and community engagement programmes. In partnership with relevant city agencies, the GLA is also responsible for coordinating the city’s policing and transport plans for the tournament.

The GLA is seeking to recruit an experienced team member to perfrom the role of Volunteer Manager for the Host City Volunteering Programme. This programme will deploy around 2,000 volunteers across London at transport hubs, tourist sites and Fan Zones to ensure Londoners and visitors have the best possible experience in London during the tournament.

Candidates are required to demonstrate a track record of working on high profile projects, as well as experience of the volunteering project area of major events. The successful candidate will be required to monitor, track progress and report against key objectives and ensure an integrated approach to project planning and delivery.

The successful candidate will work within the GLA’s EURO 2020 team alongside Team London to plan, implement and deliver a world class, meaningful and memorable volunteer programme across London. Showcasing London to spectators through its diverse population and unique culture, the volunteer programme for EURO 2020 is a fantastic opportunity to push the global volunteering movement to the next level. EURO 2020 is a prime opportunity to build a young, diverse and inclusive volunteer workforce that represents and reflects the dynamism and diversity of London.

London's diversity is its biggest asset and we strive to ensure our workforce reflects London's diversity at all levels. We welcome applications from everyone regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith or disability.

We are committed to being an inclusive employer and we are happy to consider flexible working arrangements. We would welcome applications from candidates who are seeking part time work as this role is open to job share.
