About the role:

It's inspiring the team to deliver an exceptional service

It’s finding new ways to push things forward. And it’s the pride in joining a team at the heart of a world famous institution. This is what makes working for them exceptional.

As Purchase Ledger supervisor, you’ll lead the team responsible for processing invoices for every department across them.

You’ll be responsible for day-to-day management and checks, ensuring that every purchase is processed accurately. And with oversight of the team, you’ll motivate those around you to deliver excellent service.

From reviewing invoice registers and payment schedules, to running reports and reconciliations, you’ll ensure invoices and queries are processed in an efficient and timely manner.

Reflecting the diversity of their operations, their suppliers include public, private and charitable entities. And as an important point of contact, maintaining relationships with this varied portfolio will be a rewarding challenge.

But where you’ll have opportunities to add greatest value, will be as their process expert.

Although many of their operations are well established, there’s always room for improvement. With customers at the heart of your approach, you'll push your team to continually refine processes, and will work with colleagues to launch new digital systems; developing project management skills as you go.

And knowing that you’re underpinning the diverse activities of the whole organisation, you’ll be pushed to deliver exceptional service every day.

About you:

Educated to degree level in a relevant discipline and with significant experience of managing a purchase ledger function, you’re exactly who they’re looking for.

Having previously managed or supervised a team, you're able to motivate and inspire others with a collaborative, team-focused approach to deliver exceptional standards and service.

You’ll ideally hold a professional accountancy qualification, however what’s more important is your exposure to and understanding of accounting procedures and purchase ledger processing.

Organised and pro-active with lots of initiative, you'll juggle a varied workload, effectively balancing priorities and deadlines including project work.

You’ll also have a keen eye for detail, which is critical in a role where faultless accuracy is expected from day one.

Digitally fluent and with a customer focused approach, you're committed to ensuring the team provide an exceptional service to the organisation, and will know how to use finance systems to improve the user experience.

And you understand the importance of building effective relationships with individual suppliers from a diverse range of businesses.

You’re a logical and innovative problem solver too, able to suggest pragmatic solutions and keep calm under pressure.

Above all, you constantly seek out methods to improve the status quo, keen to push yourself and the Household forward.

You may have experience of the following: Purchase Ledger Supervisor, Purchase Ledger Assistant, Accounts Payable Assistant, Finance Team Leader, Finance Supervisor, Finance Assistant, Finance Administrator, Accounts Assistant, Accounts Administrator, etc.
