Locality Coordinator (Mental Health) Opportunities
Birmingham, West Midlands
£19,510 per annum

Our client is a leading provider of mental health services in Birmingham and the West Midlands.  They offer high quality services that support both recovery and wellbeing and  actively work with people so that they can be in control of their lives.  With respect for the individual at the forefront of all the work they do, the company has a well-earned reputation for excelling in quality.

With over 50 years’ experience of supporting people with mental health difficulties within the local community, they always strive to challenge the stigma that surrounds mental distress.

As a Locality Coordinator you will be assisting in the organisation and supervision of a staff team delivering support to those experiencing mental health difficulties.  They have designed the support to be local, responsive and collaborative with a mixture of one to one support and group support.
You will engage with and understand the communities you support and ensure service users are appropriately supported either in their own home or in their local community. This support will ensure that service users continue to enjoy stability in their accommodation.

All of the service users have aspirations and goals and it will be your role to ensure that the staff team support individuals to achieve these.  This is not something they, as a service, expect to do alone.  You will be working with the Locality Lead in a community focused way to ensure that local organisations are a strong part of the delivery model; you will ensure that we retain close and effective links with local organisations.  You would in addition carry a small caseload of service users that you would directly support to achieve their goals.

Whether your staff team are working one to one or with a group of service users, your approach will be focused on recovery.

You will work alongside service users who have made the step into volunteering and therefore you will be utilising their experience and motivation to enhance a service which both respects service users and encourages participation.

You will have at least 6 months’ experience of working within a supervisory role as well as least 6 months’ experience in the mental health field. You will have a positive attitude to people who have experienced mental health difficulties and will have a good working knowledge of the legal and regulatory frameworks that affect the work we do. You will be flexible in terms of your working hours, which may include evening and weekend work.

Benefits include an attractive defined contribution pension scheme, Paycare which offers employees affordable cover for a range of healthcare treatments, an Employee Assistance Programme which includes free counselling, Childcare Vouchers and a comprehensive training programme.
People are key to the success of this organisation and they are recognised as both a Mindful Employer as well as achieving Gold standard success in Investors in People. They welcome applications from people who have experienced mental health difficulties.
