Mind in Salford is offering an excellent opportunity within its Forensic Advocacy Team.

Independent Mental Health Advocates (IMHAs)
Location: Manchester, M25
Contract: Maternity Cover
Hours: Part time, 3 or 4 days a week
Required Experience: Working within Advocacy for 1 Year Minimum
Salary: £24,000pa pro rata (based on 5 days per week) for Qualified IMHAs
or £22,000pa pro rata (based on 5 days per week) for Unqualified Advocates.

We are looking for an Independent Mental Health Advocate (IMHA) to provide maternity cover over a period of up to six months, with possible extension. The post is for 3 or 4 days per week.

We are looking to recruit a dynamic individual to join our IMHA team to support and empower vulnerable adults detained under the Mental Health Act in a Medium-Secure forensic hospital.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience of providing Independent Mental Health Advocacy to a high standard;
  • The ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of professionals and service-users;
  • A working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and associated legislation.
