An opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Business Development Manager to join a growing Business Development team to support WorldSkills UK to drive income by securing new commercial partners and maximising existing partnerships. This is a particularly exciting time as WorldSkills UK are embarking on a journey to grow the portfolio of products to support businesses to recruit and develop their staff to world-class standards.

Ultimately, success in this role will contribute to the work of WorldSkills UK to continue to raise the prestige of apprenticeships, develop young people’s skills and drive productivity in the UK economy.

The postholder will grow income by securing new business from new commercial partners from within agreed sectors, and maximise income from existing partners to achieve cash and in-kind targets. This exciting role will suit a tenacious and experienced relationship builder, keen to make their mark within a dynamic charity. The Business Development Manager will support the Head of Business Development to implement new strategies to build and manage partnerships, working to establish new commercial opportunities to increase income and long-term retention.

The successful candidate will have experience developing new relationships through market and prospect research, networking, identifying and responding to leads to secure funding. Adept at engaging with senior stakeholders, with the ability to convey the charity’s programmes and aims in a succinct manner, with experience of writing high quality, bespoke proposals and presentations.
