Position: Area Fundraiser (North West England)

Salary Band: £32,717 - £37,206 per annum (Band E, Level 2)
Department: Community & Events

Over 100,000 people in the UK have multiple sclerosis (MS). It’s unpredictable and different for everyone. It’s often painful and exhausting, and can cause problems with how you walk, move, see, think and feel. It can make it hard to work, and do the things you enjoy. But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Our client is a community of people living with MS, scientists, campaigners, volunteers and fundraisers. They understand what life’s like with MS, and they support each other through the highs, lows and everything in between. And they’re driving research into more – and better – treatments. For everyone. Together, the community is strong enough to stop MS.

About this job
The Area Fundraising team in England are focused on raising £1m+ each year, working closely with the head office based fundraising team, and colleagues in Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. This role offers the opportunity to grow community and events fundraising in the North West, with the enthusiastic support of people affected by MS, their friends and families, including members of local branches. This role is part of increased organisational investment and demonstrates their commitment to increasing grassroots fundraising activity.

The Area Fundraising (England) team works within a lively and creative fundraising department, where they try to break down barriers as much as they can and collaborate to ensure supporters at all levels get the very best service from the charity. You will be given free rein to develop your skills and experience, while building relationships with grassroots supporters to maximise income. You will also be part of the Stop MS Appeal, which is being launched to the public in Spring 2019.

You’re likely to be in a similar role for another charity, confident, enthusiastic and with great customer care and communication skills. You'll know how work closely with supporters, volunteers, local groups and the wider fundraising team. You’ll be able to demonstrate a good understanding of community and events fundraising and a collaborative approach to teamwork. Most importantly, you’ll be supporter-focused and willing to go the extra mile to support the organisation's amazing fundraisers and help them reach their fundraising goals.

This role covers the North West of England (Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Mersey, Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire), therefore our client is looking for candidates based within this area.

If you’re enthusiastic, hard-working and motivated by helping others achieve something amazing in support of a cause that means the world to them, they’d love to hear from you.
