We have an excellent opportunity for a Committee Administrator to join our clients Governance Team in a senior role that will ensure good governance within the charity.

Our client is one of the UK’s largest international animal welfare charities, currently supporting projects in over 35 countries worldwide. Position: Committee Administrator

Location: Based in Sidmouth, Devon – “an area of outstanding natural beauty”

Salary: £37,000 per annum

Duration: Permanent full-time, starting as soon as possible

Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 08.30 – 16.30

The Role

The Committee Administrator is responsible for providing comprehensive and high quality company secretarial support to the Board, Committees and subsidiary companies, in accordance with the charity’s governance standards. This is a senior role ensuring good governance within the charity, supporting the Head of Governance in a range of duties and with responsibility for the co-ordination of the work of the Executive Admin team.

About You

As Committee Administrator you will possess excellent organisational and interpersonal skills and be responsible for

 

  • co-ordinating Board, committee, trading subsidiary and general meetings (including preparation and arrangements)
  • agenda setting (with the Head of Governance), drafting, circulation and publication of minutes
  • maintaining complete and up to date statutory books and Trustee files,
  • conflict of interest statements
  • registration of gifts and interests and other regulatory documentation
  • ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory and statutory requirements, including the filing or notices and returns to the Charity Commission, Companies House and other government bodies as necessary

 

You will be able to maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail while dealing with a number of conflicting demands and deadlines, together with line management experience. With exceptional communication, diplomacy, literacy and IT skills, you will have a thorough understanding of company law and directorial responsibilities. You will be proactive and self-motivated and hold, or be working towards, a Chartered Company Secretary qualification. Experience of working in the not-for-profit sector would be advantageous.
