Job Details
This is a one year fixed contract with the possibility of an extension.
Our client is looking for someone who is able to provide high quality service management. This role is responsible for managing and delivering a range of services, working in an integrated way with partners to deliver new approaches to activities in the community and support to deliver better outcomes for people with learning disabilities.
You will have excellent communication skills, be forward-thinking and innovative and have significant experience of the management of change and service development projects. You will need to initiate the project - check feasibility and work out budgets, teams and resources as well as carry out planning. This will include setting goals and objectives, defining roles and producing schedules and timelines for tasks - in accordance with the needs of your client group. These roles will work closely with key stakeholders, including in co-production with those people who use their services, their carers and families.
You will also be required to select, lead and motivate your team from both internal and external stakeholder organisations carry out monitoring and control activities in order to track the progress of the projects you manage.
The services you will cover:
1. Activity Plus
They have a leisure/activity service which currently provides the following services, which service users pay a fee to attend.
• Group activities - including a bowling league, rambling and baking sessions
• Group holidays, in this country and abroad
• Day trips, predominantly through a programme of summer activities
It is open to anyone with a learning disability. It is especially important to those people who may not receive any services from elsewhere. They are looking to develop the service, specifically offering more trips and holidays as these are very popular.
2. Pretty Little Cupcakes
Pretty little cupcakes is a cupcake bakery and shop which makes and sells cupcakes and some other sweet snacks to the public. It offers employment – both paid and voluntary – and training for individuals with learning disabilities. It has been running since 2011/12 and they are now looking to build upon its success.
3. The holiday home
Their Trustees have asked managers to develop a proposal to purchase a holiday home for service users and carers to use. They aim to progress this development in 2019 and the new Activities Co-ordinator will be pivotal in progressing the development, and the subsequent management of this (bookings, liaising with the park and advertising).
