Project Coordinator – Supported Employment
Our client is a user led organisation managed and controlled by disabled people.
The purpose of the Project Coordinator is to coordinate the delivery of a pilot follow-on support service for 36 young Disabled people across their West London Supported Internship projects, supporting them into paid work.

Hours: 37.5 hours a week
Location: Various London Locations
Contract: Fixed - term
Job level: Experienced
You will begin working with the interns in the third term of their supported internship where they have been supported to work in a variety of work placements. You will be required to liaise with the Job Coaches, Supported Employment Co-ordinators, Tutor’s and host employers on the Supported Internships to assess and identify the interests and skill sets of individuals.
You will use this information to identify appropriate employment opportunities, approach and engage with employers on behalf of potential candidates or support them to make approaches. You will offer advice and guidance for accessible recruitment and employment, negotiating reasonable adjustments for their candidates. You will build a network of employers and maintain those relationships with the aim of creating ongoing pipelines that connect the graduates with their vacancies.
You will also recruit and coordinate a bank of job coaches to deliver in-work support to those graduates who gain paid employment.

Our client's Employment Service continues to set the agenda for disability employment across London with great results. They have carved out a role, and reputation, for setting up and delivering supported internships for people with learning disabilities. They provide management, job coaching and employer engagement for over 50 young people with learning disabilities each year across their internship sites
You are passionate about supporting people with learning disabilities and autism to become independent. You have a good working knowledge of the social model of disability. Ideally you have some experience in supported employment or a similar role. You have an outgoing, positive, empathetic, assertive personality and a clear and straightforward communication style.
