An international animal welfare charity are recruiting for a Community Training Advisor to work closely with the veterinary and education teams to design, develop and implement community training in overseas locations to promote the welfare of working animals in some of the world's poorest communities.

As someone who has previous experience of training adults in community settings you will take the time to build relationships with communities and deliver training which will engage and empower them to take ownership of their responsibilities through raising awareness and understanding.

You will use your ability to develop training resources and programmes for implementation in low literacy contexts to develop provisions of curriculum and training resources based on adult participatory learning techniques in order to promote areas such as reducing the number of preventable injuries to working animals by adopting humane husbandry practises and facilitating the use of humane equipment; positive physical welfare through raising awareness of animal needs and medical services available; positive psychological welfare by seeing animals as sentient beings.

You will support field based Community Training Officers through developing and delivering professional development training and be able to manage people and resources in order to deliver the training sessions.

As someone who has a creative, diplomatic, collegiate and collaborative approach, you will take the time to build connective relationships and be understanding of cultural differences. You will also have to have a passion for and empathy with working animals and be willing to travel to Africa and the Middle and Far East for up to one working week a month.
