Executive Director (Community / Environmental Charity)/ Chief Executive
Hatfield
£70,000-£80,000 per annum plus attractive benefits

Join a team that is changing places and changing lives.

Our client is the community charity with a green heart.  They believe that big global issues – the economy, the environment – have a big local impact.  They operate throughout the UK helping communities find practical solutions to the challenges they face.

They are in an exciting stage of growth and change. A registered charity, one of 17 Trusts throughout the United Kingdom, which enables social and environmental regeneration of local communities across the east of England. They deliver a broad range of projects across three themes: creating better places, improving people's prospects, and promoting greener living and working.

They work in partnership with residents, local authorities, the private sector, schools, other charities and local organisations to develop projects which bring about regeneration and improve the quality of life. With a turnover of £3 million and 70 staff, they are in a strong position to build on their considerable achievements so far.

They are seeking an Executive Director to provide strategic leadership and management to achieve the core aims of the business in line with their vision and values.

The Executive Director is responsible for the strategic development and performance of the organisation financially and legislatively while maintaining and enhancing the reputation, profile and efficacy of the Trust through relationship management, focussed operational delivery and effective marketing and communications. Developing innovative approaches and strategic partnerships to expand the portfolio are also central to the role.

The successful candidate will have the ability to lead, manage and motivate senior teams to achieve business objectives while networking effectively with external partners and stakeholders to secure and expand projects and programmes within a variety of sectors.
Crucially, the Executive Director will have overall responsibility for maintaining and enhancing the long-term financial sustainability of the Trust.

Outstanding leadership and business skills are a prerequisite. Experience and knowledge of the community and environmental regeneration sectors is particularly relevant as is knowledge of the broader charity sector.

Our client offers the opportunity to make a lasting difference and to positively impact a successful organisation with a strong community focus.

The job holder will be required to work flexibly and to travel regularly to our regional offices and to prospective business partners as required.
