Description

Key responsibilities for the role include the following:

  • To strategically develop and implement the strategic growth brand plan in conjunction with stakeholders
  • To positively motivate team to drive focus and deliver on distribution targets by proactively providing insight, support and actively developing proposals
  • To manage all relationships positively - both internally and externally - required for the successful implementation of the brand plan in a personable and effective manner to drive and deliver results:
  • Internally with UK functions especially National accounts, Regional sales, logistics and finance functions to ensure the smooth implementation of brand actions / Externally working very closely daily with Brand owners in a flexible and collaborative manner
  • Externally acting as the UK face of the brand with trade customers
  • Commercially: Responsible for price management of all skus, Responsible for delivering on annual margin and volume objectives, Monthly management and reporting of total margin profitability of the brand with close interrogation and monitoring by key account, Responsible for annual A&P budget in excess £1m
  • Communication: Identify and create effective communication of all category related insight, brand news, activity and product launches, Detailed and specific management of new sku launches, Regular communication with internal teams, ensuring a drive for focus internally, Acting as spokesperson and knowledge holder at trade and customer events, Management of trade and customer events, Develop strategies to support activation plans in the on and off trade where relevant, Preparation of brand presentations, tasting notes, food pairing, Support of Globally prepared social media activity alongside driving UK based media activity
  • Reporting: Regular monitoring, interrogation and reporting of brand performance using sales results, R&I data, key account & financial data. Communicate on agreed schedule with brand owners and internal timelines: monthly reports and QBR ownership, Finance and budgetary reporting, Key account activity reporting, Developing insight presentations in conjunction with R&I manager, Brand management of all elements for any NPD and brand launches

Profile

The ideal candidate will posess the following qualities:

  • Considerable experience working within the drinks Industry - minimum 3 years
  • Exceptional excel skills
  • Strong budget and commercial skills
  • Excellent presentation skills - ability to prepare, present and comprehensively answer complex issues to multiple stakeholders in an effective & engaging manner
  • Strategic thinker - ability to develop strategic thinking and brand plans, whilst preparing comprehensive actionable plans
  • Accountable - Independent and answerable on all elements of top level management of delivery of brand plans and answerable on all areas of the plan
  • Relationship management - management of multiple stakeholders across all levels within and outside the organisation, with suitable and adaptable communication styles appropriate to the audience
  • High level team management skills - enabling the driving of results. Ensure team remain fully integrated with the sales and marketing programmes and ensure effective team dynamics
  • Strong and timely reporting skills - ensures timely and planned preparation of monthly reports and QBR

Preferred Background

  • Extensive experience with UK Off Trade & specifically grocers, ideally with drinks brand background
    • FMCG / Drinks experience
    • Trade marketing
    • Man management experience
