Job Details
The British Museum is seeking a Major Gifts Manager to play a key role in its Development Department. You will research, create and present compelling fundraising proposals for current and potential individual donors. With excellent communication skills and diplomacy, you will enjoy working with a variety of supporters. You will also be able to build strong internal and external relationships, including with curators and advocates.
As a highly organised and motivated individual, you will perform well under pressure and be able to meet significant, but achievable, financial targets. You will also possess excellent project and people management skills.
The successful candidate will be educated to degree level, or equivalent, and have experience of securing five and, ideally, six figure donations, working with multiple private donors concurrently. Willingness to work outside of normal office hours and to travel, including occasional international trips, is essential.
You will be joining an ambitious, collegiate and expanding team, at one of the world’s most prestigious cultural organisations, during the planning phase of a significant capital project.
