As the star of '24 Hours in A&E', St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the best-known hospitals in Britain.

 

St George's is also one of the country's largest teaching hospitals, treating over 500,000 patients every year, and has an international reputation for quality of care and cutting-edge treatment. They are currently looking for a Grant Officer to manage their current grants portfolio.


St George's Hospital Charity is central to the Hospital's continued success. We provide vital support by enhancing the environment through refurbishments and building projects to create better conditions for patients, staff and visitors. They also fund research, help to fund state-of-the-art equipment, support St George's staff through training and development and fund the Arts At St George's Programme which delivers a wide range of engaging arts initiatives to support patients, families and staff.


The post holder will have responsibility for managing our current grants portfolio and handling the busy demand for funding within St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, while shaping and influencing current procedures and processes. You will also have specific responsibility for the management of the Charity's General Grants Fund and the Special Purpose Funds and focus on assisting Trust staff in applying for funding. As part of the Charity's wider objectives, this post holder will also maintain a close liaison with the Fundraising team to facilitate development of the shared fundraising and marketing goals.


The successful applicant will apply their knowledge, skills and experience to develop our current grants programme and be involved in the launch and implementation of our future grants strategy. You will have considerable grant making experience, be educated to degree level and have working knowledge and experience of grant databases. You will have experience of experience of grants management, from pre-award to post award, including advising applicants, assessing and monitoring grants. Experience of managing grants within the charity health sector and understanding of current NHS charity landscape are desirable but not essential.
