  • Campaigning for the changes that people with a learning disability want

About the role:

Are you passionate about securing impactful national media coverage? An up and coming Media/PR professional looking for that next challenge?

Our client is looking for a Media Officer to join their new team in London. This is a fantastic opportunity for a PR/media professional looking to make a difference in a leading learning disability charity. You will need to be able to work independently and on your own initiative. But building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders is also a huge part of this role, so priding yourself on your excellent interpersonal skills is a must.

The Media Officer will need to know what makes an outstanding press release, feature and article and will have excellent creativity and writing skills. Being at the forefront of the busy press office, you will be dealing with incoming press enquiries as well as liaising with national journalists, often juggling lots of activities at one time. You will also be supporting internal teams, particularly across programmes and services, to promote the organisation’s work and to give a voice to people with a learning disability in the media. This role is dynamic and can cover a wide range of topics.

To be successful in this role you will need to be a proactive and enthusiastic communicator with an understanding of the media landscape. Everything you will do will be to make sure people with a learning disability are positioned firmly at the heart of the news and consumer agendas.

Does this sound like the perfect role for you?

If the answer is yes, then we would love to hear from you. Click the “Apply” button to submit your application today. Please ensure that you provide an up-to-date CV and covering letter to be considered for this role.
