Today, 12 children and young people in the UK hear the shocking news they have cancer. Our client is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families, and provides them with clinical, practical, emotional and financial support. Position: Finance Business Partner
Location: London Office
Job type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week
Salary: £35,000 per annum

About the role:

Business partnering, improving the financial confidence and competencies of budget holders and providing timely financial analysis and reports to enable them to make effective, informed decisions in the best interest of the strategic direction of the department and charity.

To play a key role in financial planning and control through the creation of budgets and forecasts; longer term financial models and reporting on performance through the production of management accounts and other analytical reports for the charity, as required.

To develop and provide financial analysis and reporting on any aspect of the charity’s activities and contribute to the overall financial appraisal of the organisation’s performance.

About you:

- Qualified Accountant or equivalent experience with practical knowledge & understanding of management accounting (and at least part qualified).
- Experience of running the month / year end accounting closure process and production of management accounting information.
- Experience of developing good working / partnering relationships with internal customers.
- Resilience: be able to challenge in a positive manner.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information to non-financial staff.
- Problem solving and analytical skills.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and action orientated to ensure changes identified are implemented
- Attention to detail & a tidy and methodical approach to work.
- Advanced Excel user, accustomed to working with large datasets, SQL, complex spreadsheets, using macros, pivot tables and Excel functions.
