Digital Manager 

Historic Royal Palaces is the independent charity that looks after the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace, Kensington Palace, the Banqueting House, Kew Palace and Hillsborough Castle. We help everyone explore the story of how monarchs and people have shaped society in some of the greatest palaces ever built. 

Position: Onsite Digital Manager 
Location: Hampton Court Palace, London 
Job type: Full Time, Temporary Contract, Maternity cover 6 months with a possible extension to 12 months 
Hours: 36 hours per week 
Salary: £42,000 per annum

About the role: 

We are seeking an innovative and passionate Onsite Digital Manager to help take the palaces and their many fascinating stories to the wider world. 

In this role, you will manage the scoping, development and delivery of digital products for use by the visitor when on-site at one of the Historic Royal Palaces, and of apps intended for use by the visitor when on-site and off-site. You will have responsibility for delivering visitor-focused, high-quality, digital products within a defined period of time to an agreed budget. 

You will translate briefs and objectives into clear solutions to articulate user journeys, and will work to ensure that the best digital solutions are chosen to reach and engage with the audience. You will engage colleagues within Public Engagement and other stakeholders across HRP, and will be the main point of contact for third party software developers. 

About you: 

In order to succeed in the role, you will need to be highly personable, with the enthusiasm and ambition to deliver inspiring and engaging digital products. With excellent people skills and highly-developed communication, you will demonstrate an ability to work well both within your team, and with stakeholders. You must have experience of working across different content management systems and app development, as well as excellent project management skills and understanding of Agile methodology. 

You will use your sound understanding of how visitors engage with digital products in a heritage / museum environment to steer the development process and deliver our content to multiple and diverse audience types. You will also need have proven experience of managing budgets to scope, plan and schedule a digital project.
