Do you want to WOW customers and join a forward thinking social housing company who want to invest and develop in a career that grows with you? Our client’s Older Persons service is looking for a positive and dynamic person to join their high performing team.

The company has been ranked in the top 50 in The Sunday Times Top 100 Best Not-for-Profit Organisations to work for in the whole of the UK. They are one of the largest landlords in the South West, with a diverse portfolio of affordable and market rented homes.

What you'll be doing

You’ll be working in the local community supporting older people from different backgrounds by delivering customer focused support, enabling customers to live independently.

You’ll assist customers to sustain their tenancy, maximize their income, reduce debt, increase wellbeing and live connected and safe lives as part of a community.

You’ll also organise and facilitate the provision of high quality information, activities and events for customers to improve their health and well-being from one of 12 community hubs.

This is an opportunity to work with local community groups to help people reconnect with where they live and to positively impact on health loneliness and isolation.

More about you

You’ll have a passion for working with older people, great people skills and enjoy helping to set up groups as well as working on a one to one basis.

An understanding of working with older people in the community is a key skill you’ll already have, as well as the ability to work on your own initiative and great record keeping.

You’ll be flexible and able to switch between 1-1 work and group events, as well as willing to work in our different locations in and around BANES and whilst you are out and about, you’ll be able to use the tablet provided to record relevant information.

At the same time you will demonstrate resilience and the desire to work in an interesting environment where no day is ever the same!

A full driving license and the ability to travel around the BANES area is essential.

An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check is required for this role and we will help you to apply for this when you start.

When and where you'll be doing it

You will be able to work flexibly, 37 hours a week between Monday and Friday, based on customer needs.  You will be responsible for organizing your own workload and setting your diary appointments.

What will you get in return?

Our client thinks you’ll have a job that makes you feel good about what you’re doing – you will make a difference to customers’ lives every day.

You’ll get:

-Additional day annual leave on your birthday
-26 days annual leave per year (plus bank holidays) rising to 29 after 3 years’ service
-Opportunity to earn additional performance related pay
-Company Pension contribution of up to 10%
-Flexible Benefits including health care, gym membership, additional holiday purchase

Our client is about getting the right candidate for the right role, however they recognise that as an organization they are underrepresented in certain areas and therefore operate the disability confident scheme to encourage disabled applicants and welcome applications from candidates who are BAME or LGBTQ+ and/or customers.
