ParentChild+ Area Coordinator, 35 hours per week, £27,693 per annum, Sheffield, Rotherham and Barnsley

Fixed Term from May 2019 until end December 2020

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a new early years home learning programme in South Yorkshire which is part of a research project and the South Yorkshire Futures programme (led by Sheffield Hallam University). It is funded by the Education Endowment Foundation.

We are currently seeking three Area Coordinators to work with the Team Leader to set up ParentChild+ (formerly the Parent-Child Home Programme) in South Yorkshire. You will manage and coordinate a team of three Home Visitors to deliver the early years home learning programme in your area. A key element is working with the research team.

ParentChild+ has been delivered in America for over 50 years, working one-to-one with families who face significant life challenges. The model is based on twice-weekly home visits, for at least 46 weeks, by home visitors.  It addresses a range of outcomes for parents whose children are at risk of starting school below the expected level, by offering free books and toys and modelling how to create a rich home learning environment.

You will work closely with the relevant local to recruit 80 families for the Randomised Control Trial; you will then oversee the implementation and delivery of the intervention to 40 families in your area. In your area you will manage and support a team of three Home Visitors to deliver the home learning service to vulnerable and low income families. You will work flexibly and should have a suitable home working environment.

The successful candidate must have experience of managing a project. Experience and knowledge of early years education is required as is experience of supporting families and managing staff. You should have experience of building good relationships, have outstanding organisational skills and excellent written and verbal communication. Commitment to equality of opportunity is essential

Candidates must be available to attend training from 20th to 22nd May in Sheffield.
