Head of Communications
The post is full time, based in World Land Trust’s offices in Halesworth, Suffolk. It is likely that this position will include some UK travel.
Summary
World Land Trust (WLT) is strengthening its Communication team by appointing a Head of Communications. This position offers a real opportunity to make a powerful impact in an organisation committed to the long-term conservation of the world’s critically threatened habitats and their endangered species. The Head of Communications will work with, and inspire a small, dynamic and knowledgeable team and instil a sense of pride in the written word throughout the organisation.
Working with WLT
WLT is based in the UK and is unique within the conservation world. Reaching its 30th year of operation the Trust has grown from small beginnings, saving critically threatened forest in Belize to become an internationally respected conservation organisation with a proven track record, working with 32 overseas conservation NGOs on protection of threatened habitats. WLT has developed its modus operandi without losing its vision, integrity and transparency. You will be expected to learn the history, ethos and vision of WLT and become fluent in WLT’s work and its projects early on.
What you’ll be doing
The Head of Communications will be an inspirational and empathetic leader who can interpret, promote and clearly articulate the mission and ethos of the WLT. We are looking for a skilled editor to oversee WLT’s printed and digital communications. You will supervise others in your team and will combine the innovative flair of a writer with the practical focus of a manager. You will oversee the development and constant maintenance of the website, ensuring high quality content across the website and all other public materials. You will need to demonstrate exceptionally good communications skills both written and verbal.
The job may, on occasion, require you to act as spokesperson for WLT and give presentations relating to the varied work that you and WLT will carry out.

We are looking a personable candidate who is keen to integrate themselves into a small, fast paced, dedicated team, while grasping responsibility with both hands. You will need a proven track record of success in the production and management of communication and will have a fluid attitude and a lively mind that ensures all communications are vibrant and inspirational.
Salary i.r.o £35,000
