Grant and Administrative Officer
The Walthamstow and Chingford Almshouse Charity (WCAC) is a small charity serving its local community. The charity’s main purpose is to provide high quality sheltered housing for rent to local older people and provide grants to help local people in financial need, additionally, we make grants to other voluntary groups and charities who work to assist individuals and families on limited incomes & those in crisis.
We are looking for a Grant and Administrative Officer to fill the vacancy to be left by our longstanding post holder. The role is varied and will include servicing the Grants and Accommodation Committee, presenting information and taking minutes.
The post holder will;
accompany trustees on occasional home visits to grant applicants (training will be given), process grants awarded and provide both housing and general administrative support.
The successful candidate will need excellent communication and IT skills, experience of dealing sensitively with the public including older and vulnerable people, be a good organiser, self-sufficient and have good time-management to balance the variety of tasks involved.
The post is permanent part-time of 25 hours per week, the salary is £17,321 (£24,250 full time equivalent).
