Vision & Purpose

Ormiston Academies Trust has received funding from the Big Lottery and Ormiston Trust to deliver a two year #iwill project, engaging many young people in social action for the first time and developing their social and emotional competence at the same time. This project will reach thousands, but the real benefit will be about creating ways of working that will make social action an embedded part of our schools for the future.

This post is funded by the #iwill project. The coordinator will work within our existing Enrichment and #iwill team. The postholder will act as the point of coordination to help schools remove practical barriers to participation in formal programmes (Duke of Edinburgh, National Citizens Service and local programmes) and support the #iwill leads in the delivery of the programme. We are looking to support 28,000 young people over two years through rapid expansion of our existing offer.

Key Responsibilities

  • To support the #iwill project leaders to roll out formal programmes to schools and to deputise within the #iwill project as required
  • To establish a clear baseline for the number of students involved in formal programmes and to keep clear and consistent records of increase against the baseline and towards target
  • To work alongside data analysts to ensure that actions being implemented linked to formal programmes and being consistently and accurately recorded in management information systems
  • To support schools with the delivery of DoE and social action programmes to ensure sustainability
  • To work with academy careers leads to identify opportunities for strategic and sustainable relationships around social action placements and partnerships
  • To develop a social action resource bank to support the sustainability of the #iwill project

  • Experience of developing management information systems and how they are used for monitoring, reporting, evaluation and analysis
  • Experience of following set tasks and ability to manage own time

Skills
