Our client is a registered charity dedicated to the provision of hospice care for life-limited children and their families in the South West. 

Position: Senior Cook 
Location: Little Bridge House, Fremington, Devon (Commutable from Barnstaple, Bideford, Ilfracombe and surrounding areas) 
Job type: Part Time, Permanent 
Hours: 24 hours per week to include weekends and bank holidays; Shifts 11:00-19:00 & 09:00-13:00 
Salary: £19,923 to £24,445 per annum, pro rata

About the role: 

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced professional cook/chef to lead their kitchen team at Little Bridge House, running the kitchen in a warm, friendly manner and providing a range of home cooked meals and treats for the children, their families and their care team members. Their kitchen is the heart of the hospice, and you will need excellent people skills to motivate and lead their team of cooks and kitchen volunteers. 

A thorough understanding of health and safety is vital, particularly as their children and their families will have access to the kitchen. The post-holder will have overall responsibility for planning menus, ordering stock, ensuring the kitchen is clean and fully staffed 7 days a week. 

About you: 

You will hold relevant catering / hospitality qualifications and current hygiene certificates, as well as experience managing a team.
