Are you an experienced professional in board and committee management looking for a Governance Officer role?
We are delighted to be partnering with The Scout Association to recruit their new Governance Officer. Scouting exists to make young people's lives better, helping them realise their full potential. This is a really exciting opportunity to join their governance team to support the Company Secretary and Governance Manager with effective management of the committees.
Reporting to the Governance Manager day to day responsibilities will include minute taking of committee and board meetings, following up agreed action plans in collaboration with the Company Secretary and Governance Manager, managing relationships with key stakeholders, proof reading and preparing papers as well as booking meetings. You will also be responsible for monitoring all complaints highlighting any areas for improvement as well as producing clear and concise calendar dates for Board and Committee meeting dates. In addition you will have the opportunity to manage the annual trustee appraisal scheme ensuring all trustees have effective meetings with the Chair of the Board.
To be considered for this role it is essential to have previous experience of supporting board and committee members including minute taking, proof reading and working with trustees. The placed candidate will have an understanding of how an organisation's Board and Committees shape decision making, with an awareness of risk. You will be highly competent with MS office packages such as Excel, Word and Outlook with the ability to work well under pressure whilst maintaining discretion and confidentiality. This role is ideally suited to someone with excellent organisational and communication skills with an interest in working for The Scout Association.
A full job description will be provided to candidates short-listed by Prospectus.
Please apply with a Word Document copy of your CV. Cover letters are not required at this stage.
