An environmental charity are looking for a Grants and Compliance Officer to develop and implement systems and processes that enable the charity to manage their growing portfolio of grants effectively.

With strong experience of grant management and compliance you will work closely with colleagues from a range of teams to assist in understanding, communicating and meeting funders/donor's requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
-Working with colleagues to develop proposals and budgets which meet both the charity's and donors' requirements
-Reviewing funding opportunities and providing input on contractual requirements (e.g. eligibility criteria) to inform decision making on the pursuit of grant opportunities.
-Developing and maintaining a grants information management system to support accurate income tracking and reporting.
-Engaging with project leads across offices to coordinate resourcing across projects, with specific attention to co-funding requirements and implications for staffing.
-Building staff capacity and providing support to ensure grants are managed in compliance with donor requirements.
-Leading grant and contract administration, including reviewing grant agreements to understand donor requirements, communicating with donors to resolve problems and addressing donor information requests.
-Working with finance and legal teams to manage grant and contractual financial processes and minimise the risk of ineligible costs.

Skills and Experience required:
-Experience in a field relevant to grant management (e.g. business administration, social sciences, accounting, legal administration, international development).
-Experience identifying compliance issues and developing tools, processes or procedures to improve compliance.
-Experience using resource management and planning skills to develop efficient systems and processes to support effective grant management.
-Experience or demonstrable understanding of donor contract and budget management, reporting and cost eligibility and compliance.
-Excellent attention to detail and general administrative skills.
-Strong ICT skills and ideally experience of fundraising databases desirable
