About the role:

It's leading the team to deliver a remarkable visitor experience.

It’s the collaboration and the community spirit. And it’s helping millions enjoy magnificent buildings and beautiful art. This is what makes working for them so different.

When the doors are opened to the public each August and September, hundreds of thousands of people come to visit. Their outstanding and friendly summer team welcome, delight and inspire every one of their visitors.

Joining their enthusiastic Visitor Services team as Duty Manager, your challenge will be to ensure the delivery of an exceptional visitor experience. Each day, you’ll oversee the daily operations of the Summer Opening whilst inspiring your team to deliver their very best.

You’ll train and guide their front-of-house staff before the doors opens, making sure they’re ready to meet the daily demands of this busy operation. And, when the doors are open, you’ll engage, support and motivate them, and act as a trusted source of advice for their Team Leaders and Supervisors.

Whether you're dealing with customer queries or overseeing the visitor route, you'll be the final point of call, resolving any issues that may arise.

And, as you liaise closely with the other Duty Managers, you’ll champion collaboration across the operation to ensure continuity at all of their London locations.

Above all, you'll aim for the highest levels of care and security for staff, visitors and them in all that you do, and be the driving force behind a truly memorable visitor experience.

About you:

With previous experience managing teams, preferably in a visitor environment, you’re exactly who they’re looking for.

You lead by example and enjoy getting the best out of people, using your own passion for customer service to inspire others to deliver the exceptional.

Your organised and flexible approach means you’re adept at managing a varied workload, and they can rely on you to work effectively even during the busiest times.

Used to working at pace, you'll be able to remain calm under pressure and use good judgement to resolve a range of queries and problems. Strong numeracy and IT skills will be important too.

As a confident communicator, you’ll thrive working in a team and can easily adapt your approach to quickly build effective relationships with a variety of colleagues.

What’s more, you’re committed to creating the kind of visitor experience that leaves a lasting and positive impression.

This is your opportunity to use your people skills and passion for visitor service to deliver the exceptional.

You may have experience of the following: Duty Manager, Team Manager, Visitor Services Manager, Customer Service Manager, Operations Manager, Assistant Visitor Services Manager, Visitor Experience Manager, Visitor Experience, Customer Service etc
