The Jinja Educational Trust provides access to high quality education to children in Jinja through the primary schools we support. We are small charity but rapidly expanding and in need of a Country Manager who has the vision and drive to help us develop further. The role needs someone who is adaptable, with good business and social skills who would be comfortable living in the developing world.
Based in the thriving town of Jinja Uganda, home to many NGO's and charities, and on the bank of Lake Victoria near the source of the Nile it is extremely beautiful. More importantly it has many local amenities and is an easy place to live comfortably. JET has a small but dedicated and friendly staff who are based permanently in Jinja, and the UK Trustees visit regularly so you would have plenty of support.
Whist we are an educational charity we firmly believe that a good education must coincide with good health and wellbeing. It is the Country Managers job to ensure each project not only offers the best education but that the students and staff are well cared for and safe.
As the principal representative for JET you would be responsible for overseeing the development of the schools, including meetings with the head teachers and directors of education to coordinate JET programs.
This salary will support a good standard of living in Jinja, along with all the other great benefits you will receive.
