Senior Development Executive – Medical Sciences
University of Oxford

Grade 8: £39,992 - £47,722 per annum with possible extension to £52,132

The University of Oxford seeks to appoint an experienced fundraiser into the role of Senior Development Executive, Medical Sciences. The post-holder will be responsible for developing and implementing plans to maximise private gift support for agreed priorities within the Medical Sciences Division.

The University of Oxford aims to lead the world in research and education. The THE World University Rankings has placed Oxford #1 for Medical Sciences for the past seven years. The university’s medical researchers work with partners around the world, and are leading the fight against the world’s most pressing health challenges, from dementia and cancer to Ebola, Zika and HIV/AIDS.

This is an exciting time for Medicine at Oxford as they continue to grow their Development activity to support the university’s vital work. As Senior Development Executive, you will work with some of the world’s top medical scientists across a number of academic departments. You will be part of a high performing and highly motivated Development team, raising support for Oxford’s ground-breaking work through a range of high-profile projects. Managing your own donors, including individuals and trusts and foundations, you will be translating world leading science into compelling projects for a range of funders.

The successful candidate will possess diplomacy, creativity and outstanding communication skills, and be able to operate comfortably in a large, complex institution with multiple stakeholders. You will be a graduate or equivalent with an interest in the impact of scientific research on global health issues, and with the credibility and confidence to influence at the highest level and engage others in the university's goals.

Although experience of fundraising in the Higher Education sector is highly desirable, individuals coming from the broader non-profit or private sectors will also be considered.
