There are 4.6 million people in the UK who are living with diabetes and 12.3 million more at increased risk of getting Type 2 diabetes. Those people who are diagnosed face the risk of life-changing, and life-limiting, complications and every week 500 lives are lost prematurely to diabetes.

The Assistant Director of Engagement & Partnerships will lead the fundraising team to help the organisation engage, inspire, and support millions more people affected by diabetes now and in the future.

Reporting to the Director of Engagement and Fundraising as a key member of the wider Engagement and Fundraising Directorate and the leadership community at Diabetes UK, the Assistant Director of Engagement & Partnerships will lead the entire fundraising team to deliver ambitious fundraising targets, working with colleagues across the charity to develop and deliver a strategy for future growth that builds on current success. They will be responsible for three direct reports and a wider team of 70+ fundraisers. Responsibilities will also include managing key high value relationships and playing a critical role in leading the directorate.

Diabetes UK is looking for a strong leader with broad fundraising and fundraising leadership experience to support a successful, high performing team. The successful candidate will have a strong relationship fundraising background, have an excellent track record in developing and delivering successful fundraising and be able to demonstrate an innovative and entrepreneurial approach. They will also be naturally collaborative, an excellent team builder and a great relationship builder. The best person for this job will be able to demonstrate superb senior level influencing skills and will be a natural, inspiring leader of high performing teams.
