Sussex Community Foundation is a charity that raises money for and provides grants to charities and community groups in Sussex to help meet a diverse range of local needs. They provide a bespoke charitable giving service to high-net-worth individuals, companies and charitable trusts.
The Foundation was set up in 2006, has given out £15 million in grants and has established an endowment fund to provide long-term support for the local community. Last year it gave £2 million in grants to over 400 small charities and community groups in Sussex.
We are working together to recruit a new Grants Officer who will support the Head of Grant Programmes and Grants Team to continue to deliver a high quality grant making service. The successful candidate is likely to have a strong track record of working with the voluntary sector, strong experience of grant making and an enthusiasm to work as part of a small but growing organisation. There is also exciting potential for this role to engage in an emerging digital strategy for the organisation.
This role will involve the assessment of grant applications and will make recommendations to donors and grant making panels, in addition to monitoring and evaluation of processes, visiting projects and preparing monitoring reports on individual funds, grant programmes and overall grant making of the charity.
This role will also provide advice and support to grant applicants and recipients in addition to offering support to the broader grant making activities of the organisation.
