About the role: 

Are you an experienced Events Manager looking for your next challenge? 

They are looking for an Event Manager to join the charity’s high-performing special events team. 

The Events Manager’s role is a hands-on, results driven role which will require the post holder to develop and deliver events within the overall strategy of the Special Events team. The role requires a strong team player who can demonstrate timely completion of multiple agreed projects whilst remaining flexible. In addition to the core events there are a number of ad hoc event opportunities that arise that will the responsibility of the Events Manager. 

This role requires the post holder to work with a wide range of stakeholders including senior management, staff within the charity, the ICH and the hospital, as well as sponsors, committees and other volunteers, in order to maximise the effectiveness of each event, therefore excellent communication and relationship building skills are essential. 

The Special Events team manages a comprehensive and diverse programme of 40-50 events per year to raise funds, raise awareness and support the work of the hospital. The team produce many of the charity flagship events, including The GOSH Gala and the Christmas Carol Concert, and are supported by a number of committees and volunteers. 

The post holder will manage one or two members of the team at an administrative level. They will be responsible for managing their staff members work load and their learning and development. 

About The Team: 

There are 14 members of the special events team ranging from Administrator to Head of Events. The team are required to not only deliver events to the highest standard and ensure fundraising targets are met, but to also create new opportunities for future fundraising events. The team works closely with individual event committees to gain sponsorship, prizes and ticket sales across a wide range of events. These include gala dinners, parties, golf days, a high-end fashion event and other sporting events. 

As well as fundraising the team organise a range of enrichment events for the patients at the hospital. The team also act as an event agency for the rest of the charity by assisting with their event needs such as drinks receptions and networking events. 

About you: 

You will be an experienced Event Manager with proven experience of organising high-end events and liaising with high net worth supporters / clients. You will be solution-focused, hard-working and a team player. You will have the ability to think on your feet whilst delivering best practice and maximising ROI. 

You will also have: 

- Flawless communications skills, written and verbal. 
- Experience of managing and setting budgets. 
- A good working knowledge of event production and catering. 
- Knowledge of London venues and event suppliers. 
- A positive attitude. 
- Excellent time-management skills.
