Job Details

Do you want to play a key role in an organisation which stands up for children? Then join us as Legacy Marketing Executive, helping to shape our strategic approach for Legacy and In Memory marketing.

In our Fundraising and Marketing department, we fight for children every single day. We inspire millions of people, from individuals to large corporates, to support our quest for change. We go the extra mile - and we don’t rest until the work is done.

As Legacy Marketing Executive, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the Legacy team’s Loyalty strategy. You will help build our existing supporters’ and pledgers’ loyalty and commitment to Save the Children, ensuring that those who have left a gift in their will continue to feel engaged with the cause and proud of their legacy. You will also manage relationships with key agencies, specifically print companies for our regular direct mailings. In addition you will:

  • Act as a steward for our supporters and wider audiences, helping guide them from the first moment of enquiry through to being a committed pledger with a gift in their will
  • Coordinate and manage the annual overseas visit with our pledgers, to engage them with our international programmes
  • Review and update the ambassador manual that is offered to our most committed pledgers, ensuring it is up-to-date and relevant
  • Manage the delivery of invitations for our programme of regional legacy events throughout the calendar year, and assist with logging of responses/data and our bi-annual magazine, with scope for content development and copywriting
  • Deliver inspiring and relevant pledger communications including our sector leading ‘Lifestories’ programme, which was shortlisted for ‘Best Legacy Campaign’ at 2018 IOF Awards
  • Support the Marketing Manager to develop annual budgets and manage allocated income and expenditure.

To be successful you will have excellent project management skills with a proven ability to plan and manage activity that delivers complex projects on time and to budget. Ambitious and passionate, you will have a background in fundraising activities and demonstrable experience of influencing others with the ability to foster relationships with key stakeholders. In addition you will have:

  • The ability to analyse finance and statistical information to inform decision making
  • Strong IT skills, including knowledge of Windows, MS Office and the ability to work with a CRM system
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively and sensitively with a diverse audience
  • The ability to multi-task and work well under pressure of tight deadlines.

At Save the Children we are committed to the safeguarding and protection of children in our work. We will do everything possible to ensure that only those who are suitable to work with children are recruited to work for us. This post is subject to a range of vetting checks including a criminal records disclosure.

Our mission is to inspire breakthroughs in the way the world treats children and to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives. If you share our mission, are passionate about making it happen and strongly believe you can contribute then join us and we'll give you every opportunity to succeed. We look forward to hearing from you.

Company

We're the world's independent children's charity. We're outraged that millions of children are still denied proper healthcare, food, education and protection. We're working flat out to get every child their rights and we're determined to make further, faster changes. How many? How fast? It's up to you.

We're working flat-out to right the fundamental wrongs that affect children.

Too many children are still dying because they haven't got enough food or because they can't get treatment for simple illnesses. Millions aren't getting an education and are being exploited and abused. This is not good enough.

We're changing this, partly by working directly with children, and partly by using our experience and influence to persuade governments and others who are responsible for children to do the right thing by them.

We seek out the most marginalised children, wherever they are in the world, so that means we work in a really broad range of countries, from fragile states like Afghanistan, to developed countries like here in the UK. We work closely with our colleagues in the International Save the Children Alliance, both in our programmes with children and in our international campaigns and advocacy work.

We have high ambitions for what's achievable for children - we aim to inspire dramatic change for children and to involve them in creating that change. We'd like you to get involved too.
