Somebody goes missing in the UK every 90 seconds. We are a non-judgemental, highly skilled team of staff and volunteers working around the clock for everyone who needs us. We provide free 24-hour confidential support, help, advice by phone, email, text and online, including the opportunity to reconnect. We also coordinate a UK wide network of people, businesses and media to join the search when someone goes missing.
The organisation is an independent charity that relies on donations.

Position: PR Manager
Location: Mortlake, South West London
Job type: Full Time, Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week, some out of office hours work will be required
Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 per annum

About the role:

This is a varied, fast-paced role managing the press office, delivering high-impact coverage, ensuring positive media relations and leading on PR for specific projects, funders and activities. As PR Manager you will be an integral part of our busy Supporters and Communications team, working alongside a skilled team of communicators delivering first-class PR, marketing and publicity for missing persons.

Responsibilities:

- Deliver first class media relations to ensure high-profile, high-impact coverage, taking a proactive approach to selling-in as well as responding to requests
- Build strong and long-term relationships with journalists, reporters, broadcasters, press teams and a diverse range of stakeholders, to increase public awareness and engagement with the charity
- Tell the story of the charity’s service users creatively, to create high impact awareness and newsworthy coverage

About you:

- Significant experience of working autonomously in a PR role
- Proven experience of building positive relationships with journalists and media outlets
- Proven experience of securing high impact and newsworthy coverage
- Tenacious, professional and focused on high quality PR output
- Excellent communication skills, both formal and informal, in writing and with presentations
- Ability to develop and drive forward new projects and initiatives, taking the lead and / or working collaboratively with colleagues
