The Organisation

The House of St Barnabas (HoSB) is a unique organisation combining the rich luxurious surroundings of a not for profit members club based in the heart of Soho, with the important work of its integrated Employment Academy, which offers an employment preparation programme and accredited training to people affected by homelessness, supporting them into work and beyond.

Both the Academy and the club are located in a beautiful grade I listed home, which has been the home of the charity for over 170 years.

The Role

The purpose of this role is to have overall responsibility for day-to-day; operations and facilities, marketing, and social business functions and oversee all income generation (membership, fundraising and commercial). The post holder will contribute effectively to the long-term strategies focused on delivering a sustainable future for the HoSB and lead and motivate staff teams to deliver results

 

Daily responsibilities include:

- Provide direction, leadership of teams and effective management for direct reports

- Develop and nurture appropriate strategic external relationships from the private sector as well as voluntary groups, including donors

- Negotiate and manage strategic commercial relations / contracts and income generating activities

- Ensure commercial and fundraising current activities reflect the HoSB policy and ethical approach and that all opportunities for further development are actioned

- Ensure all operations under the charge of this role, run effectively and if not, take appropriate, timely action, and managing risk as appropriate

- Be required to comply with the Incident Controller's instructions and to remain fully appraised of the disaster management plan and its implementation

- Be directly responsible to the CEO for the development, implementation and monitoring of the Disaster Recovery Policy

 

The Person

This requires a credible and convincing spokesperson for the HoSB, including being a presence out of hours.
