Senior Community Advisor 

Our client supports people who face disadvantage or discrimination to have a voice that counts. Providing advocacy and user involvement services across England, they are a growing organisation working with people who are vulnerable or marginalised to raise their voices and have their rights respected. 

They have an exciting opportunity for an exceptional person to work as part of Wellbeing Suffolk managing a team of Community Workers and Peer Advisors. You will support people who may be marginalised to access community groups and services. You will lead by example to enable your team to encourage service users to own, manage, and improve their emotional and mental wellbeing. 

Position: Senior Community Advisor 
Location: Suffolk, Bury St Edmunds (Countywide travel) 
Job type: Full Time, Permanent 
Hours: 37.5 hours per week 
Salary: £24,000 to £28,000 per annum

About the role: 

Using your experience of working in Health & Social care, working as part of Wellbeing Suffolk you will manage a team of Community Workers & Peer Advisors. The Senior Community Advisor role is responsible for providing line management and practice based leadership. 

You will monitor and review performance with staff and be responsible for ensuring high quality support. To deliver an efficient and effective Community & Peer Adviser service, ensuring a consistently high standard is maintained and delivered in an empowering framework enabling marginalised communities to be heard. This will include coaching and guiding others in addition to carrying out own caseload. 

You will be supported in your role by your Social Team Manager and you will work closely with your Peer Advisers and Community Workers both in the office and out in the community of Suffolk 

About you: 

- Experience managing and delivering a service to users 
- 2+ years experience of working in Mental Health Services 
- 2+ years experience of leading, motivating and coaching others 
- Effective management of expenses budgets 
- Managing relationships within the Health & Social Care Sector 
- IT skills – a working knowledge of Word, Excel and Powerpoint 
- Full and clean Driving Licence / Ability to travel across Suffolk working from various sites inducing Bury St Edmunds 

Desirable Skills / Experiences: 

- Experience of monitoring and reporting, ensuring data accuracy across a range of metrics and following processes and procedures, making effective use of systems 
- Experience of working in a Third Sector organisation. 
- General management qualification 
- Coaching and mentoring skills or qualification 

You may have experience of the following: Community Advisor, Service Coordinator, Support Worker, Care Worker, Community Care, Advocacy, Care Coordinator, Care Assistant, Healthcare Assistant, Mental Health, Social Care, Social Worker, Charity, Charities, Third Sector, Not for Profit, NFP, etc.
