Job Details

Young people are facing huge challenges today. Youth workers offer them the support they need, equipping them with the practical skills to be resilient and contributors to the economy and society. The NYA is the national body for youth work in England. We believe investing in young people’s personal and social development helps them overcome challenges and reach their potential. We want to ensure young people get access to the youth workers they need, so we seek to secure youth work through policy and advocacy; supporting youth workers to do their jobs better and; securing new resources.

The National Youth Agency is at a very exciting point in its development. You will join a committed, lively team working together to transform the lives of young people through the power of youth work. We are seeking an experienced Fundraising Manager with experience of the Youth Work Sector who can lead on the development of products, services and partnerships to enable the NYA to act as sector lead in the management, governance and delivery of youth services.

The role will be responsible for the composing and submission of compelling funding applications as well as working alongside the Operations Team to build an evidence base for funding applications and new product development.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of significantly growing sustainable income through effective relationship building and submission of successful funding applications.

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced member for our team with a can-do attitude and exceptional communication skills to prospect, build and maintain relationships with funders.

Company

Young people –all young people -deserve a productive, fulfilling future. Society needs the spark and energy of young people to make it tick. Yet somehow thousands of young people feel blocked by the complex, sometimes disheartening challenges the modern world throws at them.

There’s a waste of human potential going on that urgently needs to be reversed.

Youth work – the science of enabling young people to believe in themselves and to prepare for life – has never been more important.

NYA is the national body for this vital, but under-recognised discipline. Our vision is rooted in our steadfast belief in young people and their ability to shape the world.  By championing, professionalising and enabling youth work, we strive to find better, more inventive ways to empower more young people.

Our starting point is our steadfast belief in young people and their potential to shape the world, no matter what society puts in their way. Our plan then has three key elements…

Championing youth work in all its many forms – incubating new approaches, celebrating its many thousands of practitioners.

Professionalising youth work – training youth workers, setting occupational standards.

Enabling youth work – making it happen through our networks of front line youth work providers.
